No-exam life insurance
Who qualifies for fast decisions, how it works, and alternatives if you don't.
Most carriers offer accelerated underwriting: they decide based on your form, medications, driving record and data instead of a physical exam, within age and amount limits. Approvals often come within hours. Each quote shows whether an exam is needed, maybe needed, or not needed.
What it changes
Fast underwriting is still underwriting. False answers on an issued policy can be challenged for two years. Red flags from the carrier's data may trigger an exam or lab request; you control whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually applicants under 60 applying within the carrier's limit, with no serious health history and no tobacco for 12+ months. Recent medical bloodwork from a doctor can replace an exam for some carriers.
If an exam is required, arrange a 20- to 30-minute home or office visit with a paramedical examiner in the Richmond region, at your cost. Better results on an exam often improve your rate class for healthy applicants, which is favorable.
